Maple Sap to Syrup Calculator

The Maple Sap to Syrup Calculator is a user-friendly tool that helps maple syrup producers estimate the amount of syrup they can produce from a given volume of sap and Brix (Sugar Content). It also gives time estimates to double the brix of the sap before boiling using an optional RO system. To use the calculator, simply enter the Brix of your sap (test it using a Refractometer), and the amount of sap you have in gallons. If you have an RO system from www.robucket.com, you can select the model you have from the drop-down menu to estimate the processing time. See our recommended products below.

Sap to Syrup Ratio Chart

The classic rule of thumb is the Rule of 86: divide 86 by the sugar content of your sap (in Brix) to get the gallons of sap you need to make one gallon of syrup. Sweeter sap means far less boiling.
