Viparspectra P1000
A 100-watt full-spectrum board (two white channels plus red) that covers about 2.5 x 2.5 feet in the vegetative stage, retailing around $130 when I reviewed it, with a three-year warranty. What stood out: a dimming knob right on the driver, so you adjust the light through the growing stages instead of moving the light, and an aluminum heatsink instead of a driver bolted to the board. The board has a rubbery coating and is rated for moist conditions. Compared with the Spider Farmer SF1000: the SF has no heatsink and you have to take the driver off to dim it.
Growstar S600
An older-style fan-cooled panel: heavy, 456 LEDs with larger diodes in the middle, very bright, and it gives off real heat. No daisy chain. The manual contradicts itself on coverage (9 x 8 feet at two feet in one place, 5 x 5 feet in another), and it is not waterproof, so it is an indoor grow-room light, not a greenhouse light. I unboxed it but did not run it long term.
